Details

We removed everything that was not load-bearing. The Koll uses a single upper piece, a soft-square last, and a fully unstructured counter. The result is a shoe that behaves like a slipper and dresses like a derby. Cemented construction on a 10mm EVA midsole, resoleable in one of two regional workshops.

The unstructured heel is unusual at first — you can feel the shoe flex more than a lined derby. Two weeks in I am converted. Marked down one star only because the indigo suede scuffs more visibly than the stone.
